under-the-weather update

After a wonderful Wednesday of playing and eating well, we thought we were headed to work on Thursday and Gen would be off to Robin's... well, Wednesday night was only the beginning of little sleep, little eating and LOTS of crying for Baby G. It was even more pitiful than Monday & Tuesday and when she woke up on Thursday with a 102.6 temp and tears I called into work and the doctor (for the 3rd time).
The clinic said it was most likely an ear infection since the fever was better for a day then came back, but her ears didn't "look that bad". So Genevieve got a dose of motrin (works so much better for her than tylenol) and a prescription for amoxicillin (only $3 by the way! woohoo!).
Robin came by that evening to give me a break from 4 straight days in the house with one grouchy, but cute, baby and two crazy animals. What did I do with my short break? I had a therapy session... with the aisles of Target. ahhhhhhhhhh... relief.
Baby G then gave me 11 straight hours of glorious sleep, of which I had 7 hours myself and woke up with this strange, "good" feeling... oh yes, it must be what it feels like to be rested, I had forgotten.
Now Gen has no fever, a runny nose, sore ears and a new cough, which can be so violent it invariably makes her throw up all of her medicine. This sick-baby-thing? I don't like it one bit. Except the now clean house from being home for 5 days, occasional extra sleep and the hugs & cuddles from the sweetest baby.

  1. Poor things! Earaches are no fun, as I'm sure you don't remember. I only hope she didn't inherit your eustachian tubes!
