I used my largest pyrex bowl for the belly but it never cooked in the middle!!! grrr... the edges and outer 'shell' were looking overbaked and I didn't want it to dry out. So out it came and once cooled, I scooped out the liquid batter (yes, it was that under-done!) and filled it with a cupcake! I thought I was sooo clever since it was like a baby cake in the belly... hahaha...
I covered the whole thing in almond buttercream and marshmallow fondant and used a marshmallow for the belly button! SO fun! And, of course, everyone loved it!

oh baby!
A co-worker asked me a few weeks ago to make a cake for her friend's baby shower and of course I said yes! I haven't done a cake in a while and had the free time so why not. I had been planning a round stacked cake with boy colored polka dots, but after speaking with my co-worker more I decided something with a little more "edge" was in order. I showed her some examples online and she was thrilled with the new plan....
I had the small round pans already from my last "shaped" cake (after which, I SWORE I would never do another) so this I thought I could handle.
