thoughts on writing...

As Genevieve's 1st birthday comes closer I am finding myself thinking more and more about the weeks leading up to and the day (wee early morning) of her birth. I had every intention last year of getting that day in writing but somehow an entire year has escaped me! (nevermind that we bought a house and Geoff was in school in Maryland for half the year leaving me to single-handedly run said new house... not busy or anything...)

More recently a friend on FB posted this link to another woman's baby birth story inspiring me to keep working on what I had already started... my writing cannot compare to hers but nonetheless every birth story (to me) is always so emotional, tear-inducing and magical!

This story is amazing. Honestly, I was just skimming through it and saw that first picture of the baby and "just knew" also and then I cried and sobbed, and felt heartache right along with the author. It's the story that makes you hold your own a little tighter, a little longer and cry even harder when she hugs you back and then pats your shoulder like "everything is ok, mommy".

love to all the tiny babies in the world... and all the mamas that love them so very dearly.
