I had a trauma nursing class on Tuesday & Wednesday that was decent, but let's just say I did catch up a little bit on my lost sleep. :) Baby G still occasionally wakes up in the wee early morning, but for the most part is sleeping 10 hours straight! If only I would go to bed when she did, I would probably feel more rested... It's hard because I can finally get some things finished uninterrupted.
I feel torn during nap times too; do I clean? laundry? bake (which only leads to more dishes)? watch the Biggest Loser episode from last week (although I already know what happens)? check Facebook (again!)? or take my own nap that I so desperately want because the weather is perfect 'napping' weather? In the end, my "free time" ends all too quickly to be replaced by wonderful smiles and the sweetest baby anyone could ask for. I am too lucky.
Thursday, I finished my first paid cake job for a physician whom I work with. It was her mom's birthday and she wanted something that "tastes really good and isn't dry, with pink" I hope she liked it! I'm still working on preventing the 'sag' of the fondant... I'm pretty sure it's because my cakes are so darn moist that they get compressed with the heavy fondant, which I also need to practice rolling thinner.
Today was a short work day. It was our babysitter, Robin, kids' homecoming so her house was a little crazy, but Gen loves it there. Robin is wonderful with her and takes Baby in like one of the family, especially on my long work days. THANK YOU, ROBIN! She is making this whole Geoff-being-gone-thing much easier. Her oldest daughter has also babysat Genevieve when Geoff and I went out before he left.
We're planning another relaxing weekend, hopefully with lots of walks in this beautiful weather and maybe the Plaza Art Fair. not sure yet... but I do plan on catching up on this week's season premiere of Dancing with the Stars (yay!) and some other shows after G's bedtime. We splurged on a DVR before Geoff left and it is A-mazing!
We all both miss Daddy G terribly. He reports long days in class but the instructors are interesting... he's already hanging out with some of the other guys-- one of whom works with our good friend Rich in Hawaii (who is finally back from Afghanistan!). Only 7 weeks left, and Geoff will be home for the holidays!
Off to relax with my awesome baby...
more later

this is awesome, you go girl.....oh, the many many options of what to do with ever-fleeting free time, which, as you put so well, ends with the (mostly always) delight of being with our precious babies!!!! :)
